Warrants
A warrant calls for the immediate arrest of a person. A warrant is issued for serious crimes like murder, criminal sexual conduct, or assault. A warrant can also be issued for less serious crimes like when someone might flee, cannot be found, lives out of state, or has failed to follow a court order.
The sheriff’s office processes and maintains warrant data but does not issue warrants. A judge issues a warrant.
